My Experience

Where I got it: I bought it from Ocean by the Sea’s website as part of a club.

Needles I used: 3 mm/US 2.5

Blocked Gauge I got: 29 stitches/41 rows = 4"/10 cm

My Thoughts: This yarn is soft and wooly and I really love the colour. It’s got some very subtle semisolid vibes and is just perfect for a non-superwash fingering weight wool. I couldn’t help combining it with a beautiful mohair/silk blend, Loft from Neighborhood Fiber Company because they seemed just perfect for each other. You can see a photo of a swatch of that combo and the toque I made with them in the images above.

What I might design with it: I made the cosiest possible toque with it held with Fiber Company Loft. I used the basic pattern for my Full Spectrum Hat as a starting point and you can see how I did it, plus instructions for making your own at any gauge and any size on my blog.

Where you can get some: I’ve never seen this one specifically available for sale, but be sure you’re following Ocean by the Sea for shop updates and grab what she makes if you get the chance. It’s really special stuff and I imagine it being infused with her poetry.
